"ScanFynGuy" was born in Ndola State. His childhood foundation was strongly well planted in the Word of God and this gave him a platform to start ministering in church at the age of 11, and all he wanted was to fill a soul with heavenly thoughts and move one to righteous action. While in primary school, He went on to write his first song after forming a music group with a friend. He started music professionally by recording songs in the studio while in secondary school, and eventually released his first single "Plain Riddles" Which featured Evans. Scan draws inspiration from artists such as Korede Bello and Tio. He also said "he's a versatile artist who makes music with the thought that humans are different and have different taste"..
